Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. She began her Broadway career performing in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in an Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. In March of 2023 Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the show. Ashford has been seen most recently as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the nation's first impeachment proceedings over an Century. Ashford was the main character in two seasons of CBS Comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford, who was brought up in Denver, now spends time in Los Angeles and New York.
